Description

A home standby generator is an investment that will give you peace of mind during power outages. With a Champion generator, you can be sure that your home's essential systems will keep running even when the grid goes down.

Our team will choose the right generator for your needs and install it safely and efficiently.

  • Natural gas is a popular fuel source for standby generators because it is reliable and readily available. Our work scope will include installing natural gas for the generator from the existing house piping, or from the gas meter, to the generator's location.
  • It is important to ensure that the gas line is properly sized for the generator's fuel requirements and that all connections are secure to avoid gas leaks. This service is included in our work scope.
  • Once the gas line is installed, we will connect the gas line to the generator and test it to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • The electrical portion of our work scope involves the electrical installation for the standby generator, and will involve setting up the wiring, switches, and other components needed to connect the generator to the building's electrical system. This work requires careful planning and execution to ensure that everything is properly installed and wired to code.

It is important to note that testing and commissioning the system will be included to ensure that the generator is functioning correctly. This will involve running the generator under load and checking the voltage and frequency output, as well as verifying that the transfer switch is working properly.

More About our Services

Workmanship warranty - RBA Mechanical provides a limited 90 day warranty guarantee on our work. At any time within 90 days of installation, if there is an issue with our work, we will complete the required repairs at no cost to you.

Product warranty - Falls under the Manufacturer warranty policies. Labour is NOT included on any product warranty work.


The Work Order


Scope includes:

  • The supply of 1) 14 kw aXis Champion Standby Generator with automatic transfer switch to produce 104 amps at 120V on natural gas, and 52 amps at 240V on natural gas.
  • The supply of three (3) 50 amp load modules are included, for 3) 240 V appliances.
  • The installation of the Standby Generator:
    • Includes freight cost and setting the generator on the side of the home closest to the gas meter.
    • Includes supply and installation of the gas line to the generator.
    • Includes the gas permit.
  • Supply the electrical wiring for the generator, transfer switch, and load modules.
    • Includes the installation of the transfer switch before the main electrical panel to allow generator backup.
    • Includes the installation of the three (50 amp) load control modules for 3) 240 V appliances. Each load module to be setup in a custom priority sequence.
    • Setup and commissioning of the new generator

Scope does not include

  • Coring, drywall repair, patching, engineering, lift rentals, fire caulking
  • Pad for generator

NOTES:

  1. A complete power outage may be required to install the transfer switch before the main electrical panel. If required, this would be booked with the supply authority.
  2. The generator is based on the KW rating and available amps set by the manufacturer, and may not be able to run every device connected during a power outage.
  3. Freight cost has been estimated at $750.00. Credit the customer the balance not used.

Limited Warranty:
Our limited warranty is 90 days on workmanship, from the date of invoice. All parts and equipment are covered by Manufacturer’s warranty policies which may range between 6 months and 1 year. Contact us PRIOR to ordering if you have any questions about a product warranty.

You have 24 hours from the time this quote is accepted to cancel this order and receive a full refund on any payments made.
