For Loads of Stand-By Hot Water

A hot water storage tank is a water tank used for storing hot water for domestic use.

It does not have a gas burner to heat water. However, for residential usage, the storage tanks are actually electric water heaters. For commercial applications, you use an actual commercial storage tank.

When we use an electric water heater as your storage tank, we don’t connect the eletrical components of the storage tank. We simply connect the storage tank to your existing standard water heater, tankless water heater, or boiler.

Storage tanks are used to greatly improve the amount of hot water you have available.

Storage tank with a standard water heater

In years passed, when a standard water heater didn’t provide the volume of hot water you wanted, we added a 2nd water heater. This worked great! However, there was 2 appliances consuming energy for hot water.

Today, thanks to the developement of electric tanks, we can now install an electric tank with your standard water heater, and there is no extra energy costs involved.

There is absolutely no gas or electricy consumed to keep your hot water in a storage tank, and you always have the volume of hot water you want.

Storage tank with a tankless water heater

A tankless water heater is high efficient, as energy is only consumed when there is an immediate demand for hot water. But there are cons of a tankless water heater.

A storage tank is the perfect solution to beat those cons. You get the high energy savings of a tankless water heater with the supply of hot water you want.

Storage tank with a boiler

Using a storage tank with your domestic hot water boiler, can save the life of your boiler.

It helps to prevent the constant on/off cycling of the boiler while it tries to keep up to the demands of supplying hot water.

Added Bonus

What happens when your water heater is in service, or it breaks down? You have no hot water.

Yes, the storage tank will have a small supply of hot water you can use as backup, but is that really enough hot water?

The added bonus of a residental electric storage tank, is that it can be used as a hot water heater.

The electrical components of the storage tank can be setup to work as an electric water heater. So now when your regular water heater is in service or breaks down, you can simply turn the switch on your electric heater, and start generating hot water right away.
